2. How to Use Nova Assistant (Step-by-Step)
Chat with a Single Note (Nova chat with 1 Note)
Use this when you need to focus deeply on a specific piece of content within that note only (for example, a meeting minute that just took place).
-
Open the note you want to work with.
-
Activate Nova: Click on the chat bar at the bottom of the screen.
-
Ask questions: Enter a specific question for that note.
- Example: "Summarize John's action items (to-do) in this meeting with deadlines."
In addition to entering questions and requests, you can quickly choose options such as: Action Item, Email, Blog Post, etc., below the input bar for Nova to process instantly.
Chat with All Notes (Nova chat with all Notes)
Use this when you need an overall perspective or to connect information from multiple different sources.
-
On the main "Home" screen: click Chat with AI in the right corner of the screen.
-
Choose a suggestion or enter a prompt: You can use sample prompts like "Summarize 3 recent notes" or type your own request.
-
Synthesis prompt: Enter a request to connect information.
- Example: "Based on the notes from the past month, which topic was discussed the most?" or "Create a weekly digest report including: work done, decisions, and outstanding issues."
3. Source Citation
Source Citation is a feature that allows Nova Assistant to specify exactly which note the information was retrieved from when answering your questions. This helps managers and sales professionals instantly verify data without manual searching.
Typical Use Cases:
-
Data Verification: Confirm the origin of an important number or decision in a report.
-
Context Retrieval: Click on the source to review the full context of the cited information.
4. FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions & Edge Cases
Q: If two notes contain conflicting information, how does Nova handle it?
A: You can use the Conflict Detection feature. Ask: "Is there any conflict between the Marketing and Dev decisions in this week's notes?", and Nova will list the differences for you to cross-check.
Q: Is there a limit on the number of notes Nova can summarize?
A: Nova can handle large volumes of data; however, for the best results, you should narrow down the timeframe (e.g., "in the past week" or "the 5 most recent notes").
